Centre has advertised their works better: Congress

New Delhi, May 25 (IBNS): A day when Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a massive rally in Mathura, Congress attacked him by saying his government has 'advertised' their works better in the past one year.

Addressing a press conference here, Congress leader P Chidambaram said: "We have to acknowledge they have advertised their work better."

He said the Centre has repackaged the policies framed by the previous UPA government.

Referring to Modi's recent 'born in India' remark, Chidambaram said: "I am not ashamed to be born in India. Is anyone born before 26 May 2014 ashamed to be born in India?"

Modi addressed a massive rally in Mathura where he highlighted the achievements of his government since it came to power after winning the Lok Sabha polls last year and even used the platform in hammering the Congress-led UPA government and said he will always think about the welfare of the poor.

Modi even used the platform in hitting out at the Congress and said scams have disappeared since his government came to power last year.

"If polls were held today, not a year ago can you image what would have happened?Had you not made the decision you made what would happen? Would things have changed had you allowed the previous government to continue," he said.

He said people of the country brought the change in the nation by voting a new government into power.

"Have you heard about any scams, any nepotism, any remote control in the last year," he said.

Attacking the Congress further, Modi said: "Some people are worried- they are facing bad days while others are seeing good days..These were the people who ruled for 60 years. These power circles are history now, there is no place for such people..I did not give guarantee of 'Ache Din' (good days) for those who looted the Nation for years. Your money can't be looted by anyone."

The Modi-led central government will complete one-year in office on Tuesday.
