BJP holds law violation programme across WB, male cop allegedly beats female protester
Kolkata, Dec 16 (IBNS): Protesting against the deteriorating law and order situation, misrule as well as violence against women in the state, the Bharatiya Janata Party on Wednesday held law violation programme across West Bengal.
BJP leaders and a huge number of party supporters took part in law violation programme at several locations including Kolkata's Salt Lake, Burdwan, Howrah, Hooghly, East Medinipur and South 24 Parganas districts of West Bengal.
According to reports, BJP supporters and police engaged in clash with each other during law violation programme at few areas including Serampore in Hooghly, Asansol in Burdwan and Baruipur in South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal.
Protesters allegedly threw bricks, aiming the police, at those areas and the police also restored to lathicharge to bring the situation under control.
One female BJP supporter- Mithu Banerjee- was allegedly beaten by a male police officer, Subrata Kangsabanik (IC, Baruipur PS), and has been admitted to hospital with serious injury.
Few policemen and protesters were reportedly injured during the law violation at several places in the state on Wednesday.
