3 terrorists killed, cop injured in two separate J&K encounters

Srinagar/IBNS: A policeman was injured and three terrorists were killed as Jammu and Kashmir witnessed encounters in two districts - Kulgam and Anantnag.

Two separate anti-terrorist operations were launched on Wednesday evening in the districts of south Kashmir, officials said.

All the terrorists belonged to the JeM terror outfit, police said.

"Two local terrorists and one Pakistani terrorist affiliated with proscribed terror outfit JeM killed. Search still going on. 01 M4 and 02 AK 47 rifles recovered. A big success: IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar," the Kashmir Zone Police informed in a tweet.

In the Nowgam area of Anantnag,  one cop was injured during the security operation. He was later evacuated and shifted to a hospital nearby.

Soon after the Anantnag encounter, an operation was launched at the Mirhama village in the Kulgam district after officials received specific inputs. The terrorists opened fire in the midst of the search operation.

Initially, the Kashmir Zone Police tweeted, that one terrorist was killed, and later confirmed the killing of two more terrorists in the late-evening operation.
