Kolkata/NITN: In winter, India harvests some of its best oranges, a fruit known for its taste, vitamin C content, and an interesting culinary ingredient.

A few restaurants and cafes in Kolkata have gone beyond the regular recipes and come up with some very interesting dishes by using the fresh winter oranges.

Here are five orange-based seasonal dishes you cannot miss.

Hard Rock Cafe has whipped up a special orange-infused dish called Fresh Beet Side Salad. The dish consists of chilled red beets and fresh orange tossed in a medley of mixed greens with lemon and herb vinaigrette. Topped with crumbled goat cheese and toasted pepita ( a kind of pumpkin seeds), it is ideal for those looking for a nutrient-packed, light option.
