Washington, July 24 (IBNS): US Secretary of Defence Mike Pompeo on Tuesday met Pakistan PM Imran Khan and said both the nations are moving in the right direction of building trust.

Pompeo said he will like to see development in the upcoming months on issues like peace in Afghanistan, counterterrorism, regional security, and trade.

"Last year when I visited Pakistan, I talked about the need to build trust between our two countries. We are moving in the right direction and I hope to see continued progress in the days and months ahead, on peace in Afghanistan, counterterrorism, regional security, and trade," Pompeo tweeted.

Pompeo visited Pakistan last year.

He had met Imran Khan at that time.

Imran Khan is on a maiden visit to the US for three days since he took oath as the PM of Pakistan last year.
