Washington/IBNS: A close contest between US President Donald Trump and his challenger Joe Biden is presently underway in key states as the results for the US President Election 2020 are coming out on Wednesday (Tuesday in America).

As per the last projections by BBC and CNN, Republican candidate Donald Trump is ahead in 51 electoral colleges as opposed to Democratic Presidential nominee Biden's 80.

The candidates would need to win 270 electoral colleges to clinch a victory.

A tough contest is underway in Florida, which is considered as a critical state for the victory of Trump or Biden.

Trump is likely to win in Indiana, Oklahoma, Kentucky, West Virginia and Tennessee, CNN projects.

Trump, who is seeking a second term as the President, is fighting against Biden as well as the poll projections which have indicated a win for the Democrats.

The election was held on Nov 3.
