US President Joe Biden tests positive for Covid again, returns to isolation

Washington/IBNS: US President Joe Biden has tested positive for Covid-19 for a second time and is returning to isolation, the White House said Saturday.

His White House doctor has attributed the result to "rebound" positivity from treatment the US president received.

"After testing negative on Tuesday evening, Wednesday morning, Thursday morning and Friday morning, the President tested positive late Saturday morning, by antigen testing. This in fact represents 'rebound' positivity," physician Kevin O'Connor said in a memorandum.

According to the physician, Biden has experienced no reemergence of symptoms and is still feeling well. However, he will reinitiate strict isolation procedures due to the positive test.

"The president has experienced no re-emergence of symptoms and continues to feel quite well. This being the case, there is no reason to reinitiate treatment at this time," he added.

Biden tested positive for the second time just three days after O'Connor said the US President had tested negative for the disease and no longer needed to isolate.
