US and Iran 'closer than ever' to war-end deal, says Iranian Foreign Minister
The United States and Iran are “never been closer” to reaching a deal aimed at ending the conflict in the Middle East, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Friday.
“The Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding has never been closer,” Araghchi wrote on X, referring to earlier US-Iran talks hosted in the Pakistani capital.
The Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding has never been closer. Pending its finalization, the media should refrain from entering speculation about its content.

He urged caution over media reporting on the proposed agreement, saying: “Pending its finalisation, the media should refrain from entering speculation about its content.”
Araghchi added that Iran would share full details of the agreement publicly once finalised, maintaining what he described as a “responsible and transparent approach.”
Rising expectations amid ongoing tensions
His comments come as expectations grow that Washington and Tehran are nearing an accord, despite continuing tensions and unresolved sticking points between the two sides.
Reports of the potential deal have circulated in Iranian media in recent days, though official details remain unconfirmed.
Trump slams ‘leaked’ details of proposed agreement
US President Donald Trump has pushed back against the reported leaks, saying on Truth Social that they “have NOTHING to do with the terms that were agreed to, in writing.”
Trump accused Iranian media of misrepresenting the negotiations and reiterated that the circulated versions of the deal were inaccurate.
