The British police have arrested a man on charges of racially or religiously aggravated criminal damage after several synagogues and Jewish premises were attacked in north West London.

The arrested person was identified as 37-year-old Ionut-Cristian Bold.

As per the Metropolitan Police, he has been charged with

six counts of racially or religiously aggravated criminal damage, one count of racially or religiously aggravated harassment without violence, three counts of destroy or damage property and one count of having an article with intent to destroy or damage property.

He has been remanded to appear at Willesden Magistrates Court on Monday.

Quoting police, BBC reported that between September 4 and 11, four synagogues and a private residence in Golders Green had a substance smeared on them.

It is understood the substance and liquid were bodily fluids, the British media reported.

Superintendent Zubin Writer, who leads local policing in Barnet, Brent and Harrow, said in a statement: “We will always treat allegations of this nature extremely seriously and these charges follow an investigation by a team of local officers."

"We continue to offer support to local residents, including members of the Jewish community," Zubin Writer said.
