UK: Asian man's finger cut off

London, Feb 28 (IBNS): In an alleged racist attack, the finger of a man was chopped off with a meat cleaver in north England, media reports said.

The attacked man was identified as an Asian.

"He was also punched several times in the face during the attack, which happened at 06:00 GMT on Saturday," BBC reported.

The victim is currently undergoing treatment in a hospital.

South Yorkshire Police was quoted as saying BBC that the first man was white and of tall, slim build.

The victim has not been able to give the identity of the second man.
