Taiwan's Defence Ministry detects 26 aircraft, 10 PLA vessels close to its territory

"26 PLA aircraft and 10 PLAN vessels operating around Taiwan were detected up until 6 a.m … today [22:00 on Tuesday, GMT]. 19 of the aircraft crossed the median line and entered Taiwan's northern and southwestern ADIZ [air defense identification zone]," the ministry said on X.

The Chinese armed forces carried out comprehensive military drills around Taiwan last month, two days after the new head of the island's administration, Lai Ching-te, assumed office.
