Perth, Apr 12 (IBNS) Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott on Saturday indicated that the ongoing search for the Malaysian Airlines flight MH370 would continue for long time.

He said the possible signals from the black box of the missing flight were 'rapidly fading'.

He said he is confident that signals, which were detected in the Indian Ocean in the past week, were from the black box of the flight which went missing onMar 8.

"Given that the signal from the black box is rapidly fading, what we are now doing is trying to get as many detection as we can so that we can narrow the search area down to as small an area as possible," the Australian Prime Minister said.

The Malaysia Airlines flight, which was carrying 227 passengers and 12 crew and went missing since Mar 8.

Malaysian Airlines, the flag carrier airline of Malaysia, later in the month confirmed that its flight MH370 is now lost for ever in the Southern Indian Ocean and there are no survivors.
