Shooting in University of North Carolina campus kills 2

New York, May 1 (IBNS): At least two people were killed after a shooting incident occurred at campus of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte on Tuesday, media reports said.

Police said four people were injured in the incident.

An officer quickly went to the room where the suspect had fired, disarmed him and took him into custody, UNCC Chief of Police Jeff Baker told CNN.

He said the suspect was armed with pistol.

"Right now, he is not somebody (who) was on our radar," he told the news channel.

The university tweeted: "NinerAlert: The campus remains on lockdown while police clear each building. This could take several more hours. Check email for more details."
