Washington/IBNS/UNI: Several US state capitol buildings were evacuated due to threats against officials, including the Kentucky capitol building, Governor Andy Beshear said on Wednesday.

“While everyone is safe, Kentucky State Police has asked everyone to evacuate the state Capitol and is investigating a threat received by the Secretary of State’s Office. We are aware of similar threats made to other offices across the country,” Beshear said in a statement via social media platform X.

Besides, Mississippi, Michigan, Georgia, and Connecticut Capitols also received threats that led to evacuations as well, local media reports said.

The incidents may have involved bomb threats, the reports said.

The threat to the Georgia capitol was deemed a hoax and the building was reopened, reports said.
