Moscow, Nov 17 (IBNS): Russia has confirmed that it was an act of terror that had brought down the Russian A321 airliner in Egypt recently, media reports said.

Russian Security Service (FSB) head Alexander Bortnikov  told country's President  Vladimir Putin as quoted as saying by sputniknews: "Investigations have been completed on the personal belongings, baggage, and parts of the plane that crashed in Egypt on October 31. As a result of expertise conducted on all of the items, of which I mentioned, traces of foreign explosive material were exposed."

“We can definitely say this was a terrorist act,” Bortnikov said.

The incident had killed 224 people who were traveling in the plane.
