Rajnath to attend SAARC Home Ministers' meet in Kathmandu

New Delhi, Sept 17 (IBNS): Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh will be attending the Sixth Meeting of South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Ministers of Interior / Home to be held in Nepal on September 19.

The Home Minister is leaving for Kathmandu on Thursday morning, but Home Secretary, Anil Goswami is scheduled to leave on Wednesday to attend the Sixth Meeting of SAARC Home Secretaries at Kathmandu on September 18.

In the meeting, issues like suppression of terrorism, maritime security and piracy, narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, combating corruption, cyber crimes, mutual assistance in criminal matters, trafficking in women and children and promotion of child welfare in south Asia are likely to be discussed.

It has been learnt, during the tour Rajnath is expected to meet Nepal’s President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav and Prime Minister Sushil Koirala.

He will also meet Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister of Nepal Bamdev Gautam, leaders of Nepali Congress and other political parties of Nepal.
