Pakistan terror scare: 13 abducted as residents try to flee mountainous Hathikhel
Suspected terrorists allegedly abducted 13 people on Friday in the mountainous Hathikhel area of Pakistan's Wazir subdivision, media reports said.
Local sources told Dawn that the group stopped the people while they were transporting their belongings in vehicles as they attempted to leave the area.
Local police have not issued an official statement confirming the incident.
A photograph purportedly showing the alleged hostages has also circulated online. The image appears to show Nasir, alias Gidarh, a local commander of the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Dawn reported.
According to local sources, the terrorists were allegedly attempting to prevent residents from leaving the area and had imposed restrictions on those seeking to relocate.
Sources further claimed that some families who failed to comply with the conditions allegedly had their houses demolished.
However, the claims have not been independently verified or officially confirmed by authorities
