Unidentified people gunned down a police constable in Pakistan's Karachi city on Saturday, media reports said.

“Police Constable No- 28977 Imran (posted at PS Manghopir) was martyred by the firing of an unknown accused at Khairabad, Manghopir, shifted to hospital and further investigation is underway,” read a statement issued by the police as quoted by Dawn News.

The police constable was killed close to the Khairabad Aman roundabout.

Seven spent bullet casings were recovered from the spot of the crime.

Pakistan is witnessing a spike in terror activities in recent times.
