A patient died in a Pakistani hospital after he could not be transported to Peshawar city due to the closure of roads in Kurram.

Dr Mir Hassan Jan, Medical Superintendent of District Headquarters Hospital, Parachinar, told The News International that he was the third patient, who could not be taken to Peshawar due to the closure of the Peshawar-Parachinar Road and died subsequently.

He said patients were facing problems in the hospital due to lack of oxygen.

The recent incident has left the Peshawar-Parachinar Road closed for 14 days, causing trouble for locals.

Former federal minister Sajid Turi told the newspaper that the road closures had created a shortage of food, medicines and fuel in Parachinar.
