Pakistan: Blast in Balochistan leaves two children, one woman dead

| @indiablooms | Aug 24, 2024, at 11:17 pm

At least two children and a woman died after 13 others were hurt after a blast rocked a market area in Pishin district in  Pakistan's Balochistan region on Saturday.

This is the latest attack which occurred on police and checkposts in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa regions in recent times.

Attacks have increased since  banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) broke a fragile ceasefire agreement with the government in 2022.

The group vowed to target security forces since then.

Thirteen wounded people were referred to Quetta Trauma Centre for treatment.

According to Pishin City Station House Officer (SHO) Mujibur Rehman, the two injured policemen were in critical condition.

“Apparently, the explosive material was planted in a motorcycle,” SHO Rehman told Dawn News, adding that as a result, three vehicles were damaged.
