NewLeaf gets fresh name on one year anniversary, set to continue as Flair Airlines

Winnipeg/Kelowna, July 26 (IBNS): Low cost NewLeaf airline is now Flair Airlines. After completing its one year journey in the airlines venture, NewLeaf got its fresh name as the Kelowna-based company Flair Airlines acquired the former in June.

NewLeaf, now Flair Airlines, took to Twitter to inform about their recent acquisition.

"Birthday Bash + New Name = Amazing SALE!!! Book TODAY ONLY to take advantage of this great deal" FlairAirlines said on Twitter.

Flair Airlines, based in Kelowna International Airport, is a charter airline of British Columbia, Canada.

Flair Airlines’ Vice-President of Commercial Operations Chris Lapointe was quoted by BNN saying: "We are starting a new chapter in the airline industry. Today we celebrate a significant milestone of successfully reaching our [one] year mark, and we are excited to now move forward with a new brand that better reflects who we are as one unified company."

"We are focused on growing not only our destination list, but are also widening our view of the travel industry as a whole. We look forward to sharing more information regarding these offerings in the coming weeks” Lapointe added.

However, New Leaf's journey in the first year was not that smooth and easy. They had a confrontation early this year with WestJet followed by NewLeaf's cancellation of flight to Phoenix-Mesa airport in Arizona, a south western U.S. state.

The NewLeaf blamed the WestJet for using muscle power to provide service at the same airport.

Reports suggested that WestJet announced their flights two days after the NewLeaf made the same.

NewLeaf just a year ago, started its journey as a low cost flight. They offered frequent discounts to its travellers.

The same has been followed by the Flair Airlines. They are offering a discount of 11% at the base fare on all bookings which will be made on Tuesday.

Flair Airlines acquired the NewLeaf on June 7 this year.
