New York subway shooting leaves two people hurt

At least two people were shot and wounded in a moving subway in New York City's Brooklyn region on Tuesday.

Police responded to the Ralph Avenue C train station in Bedford Stuyvesant around 5:40 p.m. and found two victims with gunshot wounds at the location, reported ABC 7 New York.

The shooting incident occurred after an argument broke out between the two people travelling in the subway.

One of them pulled a gun and shot the other, a 17-year-old boy, in the hand. The bullet travelled through his hand and hit a man in his 40s in the ankle. The second victim was not involved in the dispute, the news channel.

The victims were taken to Kings County Hospital for treatment.

The gunman fled from the scene after the incident.

No arrests have been made so far.
