Kenya building collapse: Baby girl rescued from debris

Nairobi, May 3 (IBNS): Days after a building collapsed in Kenya's capital Nairobi, a seven-month-old girl was rescued from the debris of the collapsed structure, media reports said on Tuesday.

The six-storey building collapsed on Friday.

The mishap has killed 22 people.

Several people are still feared to be trapped under the debris.

The rescued baby was taken to hospital for treatment.

The girl was originally reported to be one-and-a-half years old.

Kenya Red Cross tweeted:"Good news! A child aged about one and half years rescued alive at 0400 hours and referred to Kenyatta National Hospital."

It said the baby has reunited with her father.

Kenya Red Cross tweeted: "Father reunites with baby rescued from collapsed building in Huruma.KRCS is inviting all media 4 a press briefing."
