The Israel Defense Forces on Sunday said it has eliminated Hezbollah’s Radwan Force Special Force commander in Al-Qlaiaah area in southern Lebanon.

The commander was identified as Muhammad Akram Arabiya.

"Arabiya advanced the reestablishment of Hezbollah’s combat capabilities and took part in attempts to reestablish Hezbollah’s terror infrastructure in violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon," the IDF said in a statement posted on X.

In an earlier post, IDF said it has eliminated Zayn al-Abidin Hussein Fatouni, a commander in the anti-tank unit of the Radwan Force Battalion of the Hezbollah terror organization.

"The terrorist was involved in efforts to reestablish Hezbollah’s terrorist infrastructure in southern Lebanon," IDF wrote on X.

IDF said his activities constituted a violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon.

The ceasefire reached between Hezbollah and Israel came into effect from  Nov. 27, 2024.

However, the Israeli army continues to conduct occasional strikes in Lebanon, citing operations against Hezbollah "threats," while maintaining forces at five main positions along the Lebanese border, Xinhua news agency reported.
