Hijacked Egypt Air plane lands in Cyprus

Nicosia, Mar 29 (IBNS) An Egypt Air jet, hijacked by at least one armed terrorist, while travelling from Alexandria to Cairo, landed in Cyprus's Larnaca Airport, according to reports.

The hijack was confirmed by Egypt Air through their official Twitter account.

"Our flight MS181 is officially hijacked. we'll publish an official statement now," a tweet read.

The airline company said that the flight, an Airbus 320, was carrying 81 passengers and was forced to land at the Larnaca airport.

"A negotiation with the kidnappers is underway," another tweet read.
