Israel on Sunday said Hamas will release six hostages in two batches this week which will also include civilian Arbel Yehud and soldier Agam Berger.

Israel announced the dispute over the implementation of the ceasefire and the hostage dispute has been resolved.

Jerusalem also said Hamas had finally sent a list detailing the conditions of the remaining hostages set to be released in the ongoing, 42-day first phase of the ceasefire, which began on January 19, reported The Times of Israel.

Apart from failing to send the list on Saturday, Hamas did not release Yehud ahead of IDF servicewomen which Israel regarded as a violation of the ceasefire deal.

With the differences resolved now, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said the military would allow hundreds of thousands of displaced Gazans to return to the Strip’s north through the Netzarim Corridor starting Monday morning, reported The Times of Israel.

Since the ceasefire deal came into force on January 19, seven hostages and 200 Palestinian prisoners have been released so far.

In the third, Hamas will release Ms Yehud and two other hostages on Friday, followed by three more on Saturday, PM Benjamin Netanyahu and Qatar, which has mediated the talks, was quoted as saying by BBC.

The ceasefire deal halted the war which began after Hamas attacked Israel on October 7, 2023.

About 1200 people were killed and Hamas took 251 as hostages.
