Victoria, Jun 23 (IBNS): A French teen had landed herself into a trouble as she crossed the Canadian border and entered into the US while jogging on a beach in White Rock, British Columbia (BC), media reports said.

Cedella Roman, 19, was taking a beach day along with her mother and sister on Victoria Day.

Though her mother and sister went back, Roman had decided to go for a jog.

Roman accidentally crossed the Canadian border and later met with the US border officials.

The US officials detained Roman and held her for two weeks.

US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) said even if someone crosses border inadvertently, its illegal.

A CBP spokesperson has been quoted by Global News as saying, "It is the responsibility of an individual travelling in the vicinity of an international border to maintain awareness of their surroundings and their location at all times to ensure they do not illegally cross the border."
