Florida, Sept 10 (IBNS): A 23-month-old Florida boy died inside a pickup van, after he was left there for eight hours, reports said.

The incident took place in Florida's Pinellas County on Friday, CNN reported.

The toddler's father was arrested and charged with aggravated manslaughter, the network quoted sheriff's spokesperson as saying.

Identified as Troy Whitaker, 41, a fire fighter at Hillsborough County Fire Department, he left home with his five-year-old daughter and his toddler son on Friday morning.

Though he dropped off his daughter at her school, Whitaker forgot to drop off his son at daycare, reports added.

The boy, who remained seated at the backseat of the car, ran a high temperature following his long stay inside the vehicle.

He was transported to Mease Countryside Hospital, after medical help arrived, where he was declared brought dead.
