Toronto, July 25 (IBNS): The Toronto Police have identified a 10-year-old girl who died in a shooting at Danforth Avenue in the city on Sunday, media reports said.

The girl has been identified as Julianna Kozis. She was a resident of Markham, Ontario.

The police's news release has been quoted by CTV News, "Her family has requested privacy during their time of grief."

Eighteen-year old Reese Fallon was also killed in the shooting. Fallon, a high school graduate, was planning to study at McMaster University in the fall.

Ontario police watchdog Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has identified the man behind Sunday’s shooting rampage as Faisal Hussain, 29, media reports said.

The police said Hussain was found dead, with a gunshot wound, after an encounter with officers.

Hussain's family emailed a statement to CBC Toronto saying they are devastated and that their son was struggling with "severe mental health challenges," including psychosis and depression.
