Belgium minister quits

| | Apr 15, 2016, at 09:49 pm
Brussels, Apr 15 (IBNS) Belgian transport minister Jacqueline Galant on Friday quit from his post.

She made the move following accusations that she  had ignored lapses in security at Brussels airport before the attacks on Mar 22.

Opposition parties were demanding  for the minister's resignation.

"They had leaked a confidential EU document, dating from 2015, which criticised security measures at Belgium's airports," BBC reported.

More than 30 people were killed as  Zavantem airport and a Brussels metro station were attacked last month.

Militant group IS claimed responsibility for the attacks.
