7 die as massive flash flood caused by storm Ida sweeps New York city
New York: At least seven people lost their lives in New York City on Wednesday night as flash flooding and record-breaking rainfall inundated the area, AFP reported citing police sources.
The water from the flash flood swept the area, triggering panic, and forcing the New York state governor Kathy Hochul and city mayor Bill de Blasio declare a state of emergency.

The massive flooding was caused by the remnants of Storm Ida in America's financial and cultural capital, according to the report.
