Boston: Uber driver charged with kidnapping, rape
The driver was identified as Alejandro Done.
"Alejandro Done, 46, was held without bail at his arraignment in Cambridge District Court on Wednesday, where he pleaded not guilty to charges of rape, assault to rape, kidnapping, and two counts of assault and battery, according to a statement from Middlesex District Attorney Marian T. Ryan’s office," The Boston Globe reported.
The incident reportedly occurred on Dec 6.
Uber has been banned from operating by the Delhi government in India.
The measures were taken in India following a national outrage over the rape of a woman allegedly by the driver of an Uber cab she had hired. The woman was raped apparently 3-km away from her house in Inderlok, near the Zakira bridge and the busy Inderlok metro station.
