Toronto, Mar 12 (IBNS): An increase in Ontario's employment by 36,900 jobs in February has been announced by Statistics Canada.

Statistics Canada is reportedly a national statistical agency which ensures Canadians have the key information on Canada's economy, society and environment to enable them to function effectively as citizens and decision makers.

The unemployment rate was unchanged at 5.8 percent as the number of people searching for work held steady.

There was an increase of 59,200  full time positions and decrease of 22,300 part time jobs.

Since the beginning of 2019, 78,300 jobs have been created in Ontario.

Since June 2018, 163,000 jobs had been created.

On a year-over-year basis, employment in the province increased by 2.7 percent or 192,000.

In 2018-19, the government saved $3.2 billion by finding efficiencies and reducing spending without compromising front-line services.
