Pakistan: Two cops, one health worker die as unidentified people attack polio vaccination team
North Waziristan: At least two policemen and a health worker died and a passer-by sustained bullet injuries when unidentified gunmen attacked a polio vaccination team in North Waziristan tribal district of Pakistan on Tuesday, media reports said.
Police officials told Dawn News the gunmen riding a motorcycle opened fire on the policemen and health worker who were going door-to-door to administer polio drops to children in the volatile district.
The incident occurred in Tang Kali area of tehsil Datakhel near the Afghan border.
The slain cops were identified as Din Shaheed Khan and Razaullah and the health worker as Rasheedullah.
An eight-year-old boy, Mohammad Khan, was also hurt in the incident.
He was shifted to hospital for treatment.
Police said a search operation was launched.
However, no person has been arrested so far.
