Attock, Pakistan: Police in the Attock region of Pakistan on Saturday sacked two policemen for allegedly posting blasphemous and derogatory remarks against a companion of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) on their Facebook pages, media reports said.

After an outcry on social media, the Attock city police registered a case against the policemen under Section 298-A and started investigation, reports The Dawn.

Attock DPO Shoaib Mehmood removed the two policemen from their service.

The policemen were removed after they were found guilty in a departmental inquiry.
