Bangladesh launch capsize: 30 body recovered Buriganga

Dhaka/UNI: Bodies of 30 people were recovered after a launch named 'Morning Bird' with more than 50 passengers on board capsized in Buriganga adjacent to Shymbazar area in Old Dhaka on Monday morning.

Rozina Akter, Duty Officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence Headquarters, confirmed the matter to UNI.

She said, thirty bodies were recovered from the spot so far. Bodies of some women and children are among them.

The incident took place when a launch named “Moyur-2” hit “Morning Bird”, at 10am. Some of the passengers managed to swim ashore after the incident.

Members of fire service, coast guard and army are conducting search operation.
