Pakistan: Sikh human rights activist Radesh Singh Tony cries for help after threat calls

Peshwar/IBNS: At a time Imran Khan is sympathising with the minorities in India over its internal decisions, a Sikh human rights activist in Pakistan, Radesh Singh Tony, is crying for help and rescue after he received threat calls from the hardliners of the South Asian nation.

Tony first took to Twitter on Jan 22 to say, "The only thing I could have done by risking my own life was to protect the lives of my children.... I want to see my family safe and sound. Rest I appeal to the Sikh community to rescue me from where I am now as early as possible to a safe place. So that I become free from the problem."

In another video posted on Twitter a day ago, Tony urged Akali Dal spokesperson and MLA, Manjinder S Sirsa, to rescue him with the help of the United Nations or any other organisation to a safe place.

He tweeted, "I am getting assassination threats from Pak hardliners. The life of my family is in danger Living in Pakistan is very dangerous for my family, please please extend me help/refuge any further delay would cause serious troubles for my family."

Indian Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Thursday took note of the development and urged Pakistan Prime Minister Khan to take an immediate action.

Singh tweeted, "Urge @ImranKhanPTI to ensure safety of @aoepoeRadesh. I understand he’s feeling unsafe in Pakistan, which has seen many Sikhs being persecuted in recent months. The @pid_gov should take immediate steps to protect him & others like him & facilitate their safe passage if needed."

Though the Pakistan Prime Minister is intruding into India's internal matter and criticising the Narendra Modi government's move to grant citizenship to the minorities who were religiously persecuted from Pakistan along with Afghanistan and Bangladesh, the attacks on minorities in the neighbouring nation is a recurrent incident.

Early this month, a Sikh youth was murdered by unknown men in Pakistan's Peshawar.

Two days prior to the killing, the iconic Nankana Sahib Gurdwara in Pakistan's Punjab province was attacked by a Muslim mob.

Just few days ago in the ‘Naya Pakistan’, as was promised to be established by Khan, a Hindu girl, the latest in the long list, has been allegedly kidnapped and then converted to Islam forcibly.

Earlier a Sikh girl was also abducted and converted to Islam being being married to Muslim man.
