Islamabad/IBNS: Paving way for three-year extension for Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa, country's Federal Minister for Defence Pervez Khattak on Friday tabled the Pakistan Army (Amendment) Act 2020 in the National Assembly on Friday.

Khattak also presented the Pakistan Navy (Amendment Act) and the Pakistan Air Force (Amendment Act), separately, Dawn News reported.

The law is going to fix 64 years as the maximum age limit of the three services chiefs of the country.

The chief of army staff, chief of air staff and chief of naval staff  are the three main defence positions in the country.

The bill might be tabled in the Senate on Friday.

According to a copy of the bill available with Geo News, an extension in the tenure of an army chief will not be challenge-able in any court of law in the future if the bill is approved by both the houses of the parliament.
