Bangladesh: Madrasa teacher arrested for killing student

Dhaka, June 12 (IBNS):  A madrasa teacher in Bangladesh has been arrested for murdering a 12.year-old boy in Jashore’s Sharsha Upazila, m

Police said the man killed the boy after a failed rape attempt.

Hafizur Rahman, a teacher of Khedapara Hefzul Quran Hafizia Madrasa, confessed to killing Shah Paran after being arrested from the Dighlia Arabia Qawmi Madrasa in Khulna on Tuesday, reported bdnws 24 news  portal.

After the murder, the teacher had went into hiding.

As per the report published on the news portal, police later recovered the minor's decomposed body under a bed in Hazifur’s home in Goga Gazipara on Jun 2.

“Hafizur brought the boy to his room inside the madrasa after the Tarabih prayers during the month of Ramadan. He tried and failed to rape him that night,” SI Rashid, was quoted as saying by bdnews24, citing the teacher’s account.   

"A day after the incident, Hafizur called the boy into his house in Goga Gazipara and tortured him to death. He kept the body beneath the bed and fled to Khulna," the cop said.
