London: British PM Boris Johnson may ask US President Joe Biden to keep American forces beyond Aug 31 to ensure more evacuation flights to continue its operation from Afghanistan.

Boris Johnson will make the request at an emergency meeting of world leaders from the G7 countries on Tuesday, reports BBC.

On August 15, the Taliban entered Kabul, changing the political scenario of the country.

President Ashraf Ghani resigned and fled the country to prevent what he described as bloodshed that would occur if militants stormed the city.

Many countries have since started evacuating their citizens and diplomatic personnel from Afghanistan.
