Iran warns Pakistan of action after suicide attack leaves 27 members of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps killed

Tehran, Feb 17 (IBNS): Amid killing of 27 members of the country's elite security force, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) chief has warned neighbouring Pakistan to initiate crackdown on armed group Jaish al-Adl or face their revenge.

IRGC Commander-in-Chief Mohammad Ali Jafari said on Saturday that Islamabad should go after the armed group right away before Tehran takes its "revenge", reported AlJazeera.

"If Pakistan fails to punish them in the near future, Iran will do so based on international law and will retaliate against the terrorists," Jafari was quoted as saying by Aljazeera in the Iranian media.

The fresh development took place at a time when Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman will be visiting Pakistan.

Jafari said Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates are "conspiring" with the United States and the "Zionist regime" to foment attacks, such as Wednesday's suicide bombing, which also left at least 13 Revolutionary Guard members injured, reported Aljazeera.

As per the Aljazeera report, the Jaish al-Adl armed group has been launching deadly attacks against Iranian border guards since at least 2013, during which 14 Iranian forces were killed in an ambush near the border.

Jaish al-Adl's operation started after its parent group, the al-Qaeda-affiliated Jundullah, was dissolved after its leader was captured and then executed in the year 2010 by Iran.

The leader of the group was Abdolmalek Rigi.

Iran warns amid cold relationship with India:

Iran warned Pakistan over the attacks amid further deteriorating relationship between India and Pakistan over the killing of 40 CRPF personnel in Pulwama area of Jammu and Kashmir in a terror attack incident on Thursday.

India has blamed Pakistan for the incident.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Dhule in Maharashtra on Sunday where he unveiled multiple projects and sent a strong message to the perpetrators of the terror attack in Kashmir's Pulwama which left 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawans martyred.

Lauding the brave hearts  who sacrificed their lives in Pulwama, the PM said the nation stands by them in this hour of grief and mourning.

He said it  has  been the policy of India not to interfere in other’s business.

"However, if someone meddles in India’s affairs, it will not go unpunished.  I salute not only to the brave sons of India but also their mothers who gave birth to such bravehearts. The perpetrators of Pulwama attack will be brought to justice and world will realise that this India is New India with a New Vision and every tear will be avenged,” said he.
