Kazakh figure Skater Denis Ten stabbed to death
Astana, July 20 (IBNS): Kazakh figure skater Denis Ten died on Thursday as he was stabbed after he tried to stop two unidentified people from stealing his car’s mirrors, media reports said.
Denis gained attention in the world of sports after he won bronze at the Sochi Olympics in 2014.
"Now the city police and interior minister are looking for the attackers, while people are bringing candles and flowers to the site of the deadly attack," RIA Novosti reported.

The official Twitter handle of the Olympics said quoting IOC President Thomas Bach: "'Denis Ten was a great athlete and a great ambassador for his sport. A warm personality and a charming man. Such a tragedy to lose him at such a young age.' -IOC President Thomas Bach."

The International Skating Union expressed sadness over the death of Denis.
In a tweet, the union said: "The ISU is deeply saddened by the news from media in Kazakhstan announcing the passing of Figure Skater Denis Ten. Our heartfelt condolences go out to Denis' family, friends and fans across the world."

“This is truly shocking news,” commented the ISU President Jan Dijkema “Denis Ten was a very talented skater and a true ambassador for Figure Skating. He inspired many children and adults around the world. I send my sincerest sympathies to Denis’ family and friends in this difficult and tragic moment.”
Who was Denis Ten:
Denis Ten was born in Almaty (KAZ) on June 13, 1993.
He was the first Figure Skater from Kazakhstan to medal at the Olympic Winter Games when he won the bronze medal at the Olympic Winter Games Sochi 2014, as per the ISU website.
He also made history for his country when he won the silver medal at the 2013 World Figure Skating Championships and he was the first to medal at an ISU competition (gold at the 2008 ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating event in Gomel (BLR)).
