Three-day Cultural Dance Fest in Manipur

Imphal, March 30 (ANI): The three day cultural dance festival - Chhau Parva is drawing large audience to the Imphal city of Manipur. The festival is being held for the first time in the province and has been organized by the Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi, National Academy of Music, Dance and Drama in association with Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur dance Academy of Manipur. The Director of Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy (JNMDA) Upendro Sharma explained what Chhau dance form is all about. The festival was inaugurated by the Governor of Manipur Vinod Kumar Duggal in the presence of Vice Chairman of JNMDA N Tombi Singh and Director Sharma himself. The festival was kick started on Saturday with six dance performances.

Smriti Irani highlights Congress’ economic deficiencies

Ahmedabad, Mar 30 (ANI): BJP leader Smriti Irani attacked the Congress- led UPA government for spoiling the economic status of the country in the last 10 years. Irani stated that post Congress leadership the country is left to face some of the biggest economic challenges including rupee depreciation, policy paralysis and subsidy amounts. Narendra Modi takes Maharashtra cotton farmer’s plight as poll agenda in Akola

Akola, March 30 (ANI): BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi on Sunday, while addressing a rally in Akola district of Maharashtra paid heed to the plight of state’s cotton farmers and asked Sharad Pawar on why the cotton exports were stopped. He said that this move by the central government has incurred loss on the Gujarat as well as farmers of other states. Modi further said that the government also started subsidized export of meat, which can prove fatal for the animal reserves of the nation.

New Delhi, Mar 30 (ANI): JD (U) leader KC Tyagi on Sunday criticized yoga guru Ramdev, who on Saturday compared Congress Chief Sonia Gandhi to various demons. Ramdev equated Sonia with demoness 'Taadka' and called the Congress leaders as Kans and Ravana. He went on to dub Sonia Gandhi as a "videshi looteri bahu". Thiruvananthapuram, March 29 (ANI): Defence Minister AK Antony on Saturday said that Narendra Modi's 'Pakistan agent' comment against him is unpatriotic. Antony said it would demoralise the armed forces. Earlier, Modi had called the defence minister as one of the AKs being admired in Pakistan. The defence minister refuted claims that modernisation of Indian armed forces had been halted due to series of scams.
