An unexpected ‘voter’ at the polling station in Bengal’s Jhargram district

During the first phase of the West Bengal Assembly Elections on April 23, 2026, a wild elephant locally known as "Ramlal" appeared near a polling station at Jitushol Primary School in Jhargram.

The incident caused a brief disruption and sparked alarm among voters before the animal was guided away by forest officials.
