Great websites to pass the time on while traveling overseas

If you're constantly back and forth between countries, particularly on long journeys from India to elsewhere, the travel can get pretty boring, to say the least. Luckily, a lot of airlines now come equipped with Wi-Fi, so you don't need to disconnect while flying through the air.

India is home to some of the world's most digital travelers, so whether you're connecting from the skies or during long delays at the airport lounge, here are some of the best websites to use to pass the time.

TripAdvisor

You're off on an adventure, and whether or not you're going somewhere totally new or returning home, TripAdvisor is an excellent local guide to give you ideas of what to do when you land. From reviews of the newest restaurants to honest opinions about a city's hotels, TripAdvisor is essentially your best friend when you're headed literally anywhere. If you're too broke for a tour guide but you're keen for the insider scoop, it's definitely the website for you!

Mansion Casino

Fun casino sites like Mansion Casino are ideal for travellers who want a little pick-me-up from the sheer boredom of travel. If you've got several hours in front of you ahead, a little distraction sure goes a long way. Often when we travel we're entirely alone, but not when you're playing games such as themed slots, blackjack and baccarat - it's so easy to get lost in them. Plus, when you try live casino games or video slot games, you'll soon forget that it's just you and your phone thanks to its immersive interactive live streamed content.

Airbnb

If you're a spontaneous traveller, you probably leave accommodation until the last minute. Airbnb is easy to use and allows you to find places to stay that are often less expensive than hotels. Plus, you'll have access to people's homes, meaning you'll be surrounded by more creature comforts, such as cooking facilities. Airbnb also allows you to say in areas tourists may not typically see, meaning it's a great website to peruse if you're trying to plan authentic experiences while on the move.

WorkAway

If you're travelling because you're looking for a bit of a fresh start, lucky you! It's obviously incredibly important to pay attention to a country's visa laws, which means that you often won't legally be able to work in countries you're not a citizen of. WorkAway, however, offers unique opportunities to work in exchange for accommodation or food, which is not usually forbidden by authorities, although it's your responsibility to check! If you've got a skill or a helpful disposition, this could provide inspiration for something to do when you get to where you're going.

Skyscanner

Are you constantly sat on the plane wincing at the sheer cost of the airfare? Never freak out again thanks to Skyscanner, which you can browse to get yourself ahead of the game for next time, while you're still on the go. Play around with everything from location to the dates, by being flexible and typing "everywhere" or "entire month" to get the best deals. Just never, ever search the trips you've already booked. You may end up kicking yourself.

No matter how long your journey, you don't need to be without your phone these days - so keep yourself organised, and entertained!
