Airline major Vistara to fly Delhi-Tokyo from June 16

New Delhi/UNI: Vistara, a joint venture of Tata group and Singapore Airlines, on Monday announced special, non-stop flights between Delhi and Tokyo starting June 16.

The airline will fly once a week between the two capital cities under India's travel bubble agreement with Japan.
It will use Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft with three-class cabin configuration to serve the route, Vistara said in press release. The airline operator has also trained its cabin crew in the Japanese language.

''Far East has been an extremely important geography for our global expansion from the beginning for its tremendous growth potential. We are delighted to add Japan to our international network, under the travel bubble and look forward to providing the best of Indian hospitality while maintaining the highest standards of safety and hygiene for our customers on this sector," said Leslie Thng, Chief Executive Officer, Vistara.

Flight from Delhi will take off in wee hours of Wednesday. Return flight will leave Tokyo on Thursday and reach Delhi late night on the same day. Economy class round trip fare for Delhi-Tokyo-Delhi has been pegged at Rs 45,049. For premium economy and business class, passenger will have to pay Rs 73,699 and Rs 1,50,399 respectively.

Vistara will accept all eligible customers meeting visa/entry requirements in both countries, as specified by the respective government bodies.

It strongly encourages its customers to fully understand these guidelines before making their bookings, the airlines said.
