Tirunelveli (TN), Sep 15 (ANI): In a horrific incident, a bike and its rider caught fire when the biker started it after refuelling at a petrol pump in Tamil Nadu's Tirunelveli. The man sustained burn injuries. The video went viral on social media in which bike was seen catching fire with the rider sitting on it.

2 dead as SUV runs over 4 people sleeping on footpath

Jaipur (Rajasthan), Aug 31 (ANI): At least two persons succumbed to injuries and two are hospitalised after a SUV ran over four people sleeping on footpath in Jaipur on Thursday night.  The suspected drunk driver of the car has been arrested by the police.  Case has been lodged and investigation is underway.

Blast occurs near girls school in Kabul

Kabul (Afghanistan), Jun 05 (ANI): A blast occurred on Tuesday reportedly close to a girls school in Afghanistan's eastern Nangarhar province, confirmed the Afghan authorities. According to Afghan's TOLO News, no reports of casualties or injuries have been reported by far. Confirming the incident, spokesman for provincial governor Attaullah Khogyani, said, "No one was hurt in the IED blast." More details are awaited.

6-year-old killed after sexual abuse in Yamunanagar

Yamunanagar (Haryana), Jun 04 (ANI): In yet another shocking incident, a 6-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted and then killed in Yamunanagar district of Haryana on Sunday. The incident took place near former minister and Congress leader Nirmal Singh's farmhouse in Khizrabad area of the district. The victim was the daughter of a watchman at Singh's farmhouse. Yamunanagar SP Rajesh Kalia said that it is a case of sexual assault as many injuries were found on her body.

Tree falls in front of Hema Malini's convoy in Mathura

Mathura (UP), May 14 (ANI): A tree fell in front of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Hema Malini's convoy in Uttar Pradesh's Mathura, following heavy rain and dust storm in the district on Sunday. No information about injuries or any casualty has been reported so far. Dust storms, followed by heavy rainfall and lightning, hit various parts of the country yesterday, claiming 29 lives across the nation.

Kushinagar accident: Prima facie shows driver was at fault, says Gorakhpur Commissioner

Kushinagar (Uttar Pradesh), Apr 26 (ANI): In the latest development in Kushinagar accident, the Gorakhpur Commissioner of Police Anil Kumar visited the spot and said that prima facie it appears to be the fault of the school van driver. He also assured stringent actions against the accused persons.  The dreadful incident took place at a railway crossing in Kushinagar, where a school van was hit by a train, which claimed the life of 13 school children and eight suffered injuries. The Gorakhpur Commissioner also informed that state government has announced ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakhs.

Two army jawans killed in ceasefire violation in Sunderbani sector

Sunderbani Sector (J&K), Apr 10 (ANI): Two Indian Army jawans were killed after Pakistan violated unprovoked ceasefire, along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Sunderbani sector. The Pakistani Army on Monday initiated an unprovoked and indiscriminate firing of small arms, automatics and mortars from 5: 15 pm. The Indian Army retaliated strongly and effectively to the firing from the other side of the border. However, in an exchange of fire, Rifleman Vinod Singh and Rifleman Jaki Sharma were grievously injured and succumbed to their injuries.

Driver Held For Staging Robbery Of Rs 14 Lakh

Working as driver for an east Delhi-based businessman since the past eight years, 29-year-old Ramu Poddar allegedly staged a robbery on April 1, complete with self-inflicted injuries to make his story more believable, but was caught on Tuesday.

Woman attacked with acid, father-in-law held in Moradabad

Moradabad (UP), Apr 04 (ANI): A horrific incident came into light after a case has been registered here against a woman's husband and her father-in-law after they allegedly threw acid on her. The incident took place on Monday, when the victim and her sister were returning from a police station in connection with a case of dowry harassment. On their way back home, the accused duo threw a bottle of acid on Victim. In the attack, her sister too suffered some minor injuries, according to police. The father-in-law has been arrested, while the husband is still out. The victim is currently undergoing treatment in a hospital due to her critical injuries.

Barcelona (Spain), Mar 26 (ANI): Hundreds of demonstrators in Barcelona clashed with police on March 25, after former Catalan president Carlos Puigdemont was taken into custody by German police. The police said three protesters were arrested and 50 suffered minor injuries in the scuffles. During the protest thousands of Catalans, many wearing yellow in support of jailed separatist leaders, walked the streets, chanting "Puigdemont, our president" and "freedom for political prisoners.

3 killed, 12 injured in chemical factory fire

Palghar (Maharashtra), Mar 09 (ANI): At least three people were killed in the fire that broke out at Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) area in Tarapur town of Palghar district. At least 12 workers have also sustained burn injuries, in the fire that broke out in the late hours of Thursday. Seven fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the fire, which started from a chemical factory. The blaze has reportedly engulfed two nearby factories too. Many workers are believed to be still stranded in the factories.

Policeman injured after encounter with criminals in Greater Noida

Greater Noida (UP), Feb 20 (ANI): A policeman suffered bullet injuries in an encounter between the Uttar Pradesh Police and criminals in Greater Noida's Kasna. One criminal was also injured during the encounter. More than 18 cases were registered against the injured criminal, along with a bounty of Rs. 25,000 on his head.
