The virtual rally comes days after the West Bengal BJP brought about a major reshuffle in its state unit by promoting multiple MPs to higher ranks. The state will go to polls in 2021 if not delayed by the Covid-19 spread.

After quitting Congress, former Union Minister and parliamentarian, Jyotiraditya Scindia, is likely to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday. After meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Scindia on Tuesday sent his resignation letter to Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi. In the letter, the former Guna MP said he was not able to work for people staying in the party. Along with Scindia, 22 Congress MLAs of Madhya Pradesh also sent their resignations to Governor Lalji Tandon placing the Kamal Nath government in a spot of bother. If the resignations of the MLAs are accepted, the Congress will lose its majority paving the path for the BJP to return to power after losing the assembly elections in December 2018. The Congress-led Opposition is gearing up to corner the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government over the deadly Delhi violence as the second half of the Budget session of Parliament resumed on Monday. The Opposition is set to demand the resignation of Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
