Environmental crime cases piling up: State of India’s Environment report

February 27, 2021: Even with a drop in the number of wildlife crimes in the country between 2019 and 2020, India sees two cases recorded every day. At the same time, courts are disposing cases at a rate much lower than that of new cases recorded, leading to a pile-up and delays -- says the 2021 State of India’s Environment (SoE) report, an annual publication brought out by Down To Earth magazine in association with Centre for Science and Environment (CSE).
