Visakhapatnam/IBNS: Yashasvi Jaiswal's ton neutralised the fall of three big wickets putting India in a strong position on the first day of the second Test against England in Visakhapatnam on Friday.

Though he missed his hundred in the first Test, Jaiswal ensured he touches the three-digit figure in Vizag.

Jaiswal, who slammed 14 fours and three sixes, is still unbeaten along with debutant Rajat Patidar, who was off to 25 when the players headed for tea.

After skipper Rohit Sharma's dismissal in the first session, India lost two wickets post-lunch in the form of Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer.

At tea, India scored 225/3.

England are leading the five-match series 1-0.ย
